I think you're question is wrong. You're already stranded in an island. How could you possibly bring anything if you're already stranded. Anyways, me? I would bring a another person. So that I may have someone to talk to, help each other, and things like that. And what do you know? That person may have lots of things with him. So I brought a something, and he/she brought lots of things. Well at least I only brought one.

I have personally been temporally stuck, marooned, and trapped on various islands. Therefore, being stranded on an island with just one thing is an easy answer...

If you yourself have never been stranded on an island then you have no idea what it means nor are YOU able to comprehend what the question is you just asked. Therefore, this is totally a figment of your imagination and you've never really faced the reality of the situation...

In any case barring all...the most important item needed is fresh water...It is the only means of survival in this situation until either help arrives or one has found a solution to the problem.
