All the local kids used to meet up every day in the holidays and play rounders all day. It was brilliant. it was the only time that religion didn't separate the kids. Sad but true

Yeah - we used to tie string to nthe door knocker, and then hide round the corner while pulling the string - but that was in the 50s.
I wasn't a kid in the 70s. sorry but I recon the 70s were good times. Far better than times are for today's kids

You were pulling a tooth, right? I've got lots better memories than that. How about running through a sprinkler because nobody you knew had a pool, and your parents were too exhausted to drive you and your bros. to the lake after a full day of work?

My grandmother knew the cost of about each thing that they had that we'd want to wish so there grow to be seldom more effective than a nickle left. i'd decide on what ever i might want to get the most of for that nickle. it continually made it style more effective efficient once you purchased to %. it out. there grow to be a save throughout the time of the line from our college. They carried paper, be conscious books, pencils, each and each of the traditional college issues, and each and each type of sweet you may want to imagine of. They were all in slanted jars with metal lids and the first 2 rows were a penny each and each, the subsequent row grow to be 2 cents each and each the third row 2 or 3 for a nickle, and they went up from there i don't think of I ever offered any ingredient above those first 3 rows. I used to save my nickle because the save by technique of the faculty had more effective to verify on from. you may also get an ice chilly Coke from the soda fountain for a nickle. It wasn't very large yet made you sense actual major to sit down down up there the position the youngsters from the highschool sat and to take heed to all their talk about the youngsters they went to school with. This has been exciting answering the questions with regard to the prompt, I actually have were given to bypass down reminiscence lane numerous cases. thanks for asking.

During the summer hols' my friend and I used to go to the local 'boating-pool' to catch crabs with a bit of string and a cracked mussel-shell.
We stayed all day and collected dozens in a bucket, which we decided to take home with us. Along the way the bucket seemed to get heavier and heavier by the minute.........
Looking over the sea wall we spotted a bunch of fatties eating a picnic tea on the slope.
Can you guess what we did next?
There was water, crabs and decibel-shattering screams as we upturned the bucket onto them.
We nearly wetted ourselves trying to run away whilst they chased us along the promenade.
Ah - that takes me back to halcyon days....x

Having "block parties" The neighborhood would get together for dancing, playing chess or checkers, food and running through the sprinkler because we didn't have a pool.
