I've recently stumbled upon Shameless and Nighty Night and absolutely love them. Last year I got hugely into The Office UK, and Extras, and in my teens also couldn't get enough of The Young Ones. What other British comedies can you suggest that I should try that I might like in this same vein (particularly Shameless and Nighty Night)? I'm not really interested in older "classic" BBC comedies, so maybe keep it to stuff that came out in the past seven years or so. Thanks so much in advance, I live in Canada and have no other way to discover these brilliant shows without your help!!!

I just snagged some of The Mighty Boosh, and two minutes into it and it looks like a winner. BTW, thanks all for the suggestions, and FYI, Fawlty Towers and Monty Python are ancient.

I do not care if it is calssic - you cannot go wrong with Rowan Atkinson. Black Adder, Mr Bean and even The Thin Blue Line - just his one man shows are enough, too!

The Vicar of Dibley might be more modern
