I too had irregular periods and the gyno gave me chlomophine (similar to clomid) I took it for two months and had a period each time but no conception. I thought I was infertile and was disheartened and told my husband so. If he wanted to leave as I couldn't have children I would understand!(I wouldn't have!!) We just forgot about the idea of getting pregnant and if i didn't have my period one month I didn't get excited by the fact that I could be pregnant - I just thought I will wait until next month and see. Usually it would turn up. Until 4 months after my period never showed!! I took a HPT and it was positive!! I was secretly excited but wanted a Dr to confirm it b4 I got my hopes up!! He confirmed it and now we are 11 weeks!! Let nature take is course and try not to push the issue!! It will happen when it is ready to!! Good Luck!!

you could properly take in to 250mgs of clomid for 5 days each and every cycle. also, they could upload different drugs alongside with dexamethasone, metformin, avandia, etc. The shot, and hcg set off shot, can help rigidity ovulation even if the clomid has to artwork first. The clomid motives the follicles to make stronger and then they do an ultrasound and supply you the set off even as the follies are large sufficient. yet certainly, if an RE is out of funds, then the close monitoring with the ultrasounds will not likely be an option both. And the set off shot is more beneficial oftentimes carried out for females present procedure IUI. even if the dexamethasone might want to probable be an option for you or possibly even Femara (Letrozole) instead of Clomid. once you're saying the Clomid wasn't effective, do you mean that you purely did not get pregnant or that you probably did not even ovulate?

i had the same problem - the clomid made me ovulate but even after about 5 cycles on it nothing happened. i dont miss that stupid drug as i had really bad side effects from it including weight gain and depression
my Dr then had me do ovulation induction which involves you injecting a hormone into your stomach everyday. your blood is also monitored for estradiol every few days, and when it reaches a certain level they give you another drug (pregnyl) that you inject and then you either go home and have intercourse or they can inject the sperm into you after you husband/partner gives a sample.
again this didnt work for me after about 4 cycles - although one of those cycles they overstimulated by ovaries and i had too many egg producing follicles to proceed
i had a very irregular cycle sometimes it was 3 months between periods. in the end the Dr told me the next step for me was ivf which i wasnt ready for so i booked a trip overseas instead
2 weeks before i went overseas i found out i was pregnant and am now 12 weeks
the moral of the story is dont give up you could still fall pregnant naturally and there are otehr options out there for you if you cant
i was about to try a naturopath before i found out i was pregnant
good luck
it took me 3 years in all

most doctors say 3 cycles to give it a chance. They can check your progesterone levels on day 24 of your cycle to see if you ovulated. they may move you up to 150mg if you are not all the way there yet. 50mg, 100mg, 150mg are the dosages. I am on 100. got preg the 1st month then m/c. since then this is my 2nd round. A friend of mine was on it for a year. i think that's crazy. They are just now trying IUI. if after about 5 months and your doctor won't try something else, i'd go somewhere else. Best of luck! it sucks waiting cause i know you wanted to be prego last month...

How much Clomid are you taking? Normally the doctor will try you on two months of 25mg, then 50mg, then 100mg, then 200mg of Clomid. If it doesn't work then the next step is injectables called Gonal-F.
I did Clomid off & on for 4 years then found a doctor who monitors you while on Clomid to make sure it's working right. I did that for one year.....after 4 months I got pregnant, but miscarried a 7 weeks, then 8 months after that I got pregnat again then miscarried at 7 weeks. I was on 200mg of Clomid & a shot of hcg/norval to force me to ovulate. Clomid started to make me sick (very bad dizzy spells), so the doctor took me off that & now I'm on Gonal-F pens (150mg a day for 10 days) & then a shot of hcg/norval if my follicles are 18mm or bigger.
If that doesn't work, the next step is normally IVF or AI.
Talk to your doctor & good luck!

My sister was on Clomid and tried twice just like you.My advice,And I really hope you will take it,would be to keep trying.Sometimes it just takes a long time.I have heard of couples that had to try for at least a year when taking meds.So please don't give up just keep trying.
After about another three months if it doesn't work talk to you doctor and ask if there is a
different medication you could try. There are lots to chose from. But if you just keep on trying you will get what it is your hoping for.Good luck.
