One of my friends (also my roommate and schoolmate at college) got married weeks ago. We used to hang out and have fun, but now I think I've lost him. I understand he would be happy with his new family and he has to spend his time taking care of it. I give him my best wishes. But all in all, it has been a loss to me. Right?

[im serious]: You're right. The problem is I don't have my own chick, so that's why I feel that way.

I would like to thank you for all the answers. It's hard for me to pick up the best answer, cuz many of you left me your true words. I am happy with that. Thank you again! Best Wishes!

Yes, you're right. Even I've lost friends to marriage. And, I really am happy at their new-found happiness, but I most certainly miss the old days when we were all single and still looking. LOL....I'm still single though, and it ain't fun to be single when your closest friends are all coupled up. But unlike them, I set very high standards for the man I want to be with, which is why I'm still single. I know the root cause of my problem, but I'm not ready to do anything about it just yet. I'm 22, so I like to think that I still have more time!

Marriage changes the dynamic of a relationship between the couple and their friends. They are no longer one individual and therefore they will change their behaviour accordingly. I have many friends who have married and gone in different directions. It's sad but life moves on and so must you.

Ya, this happens. I have also lost a few of my friends just b'cos they go married. But I think is normal to be busy more with your family, after marriage, then to be your old friends. I hope he'll be back with you with more time after some time (unless offcourse you don't get married and get busy with you family by that time)
:)

Yup. Same thing happened to my best mate. He got hitched and I see him once every couple of months, if even that. Life throws you curveballs all the time. The best thing you can do is make new friends and move on.

I also have a gf that presently have been given married. I infrequently call her anymore for terribly almost a similar reasons. i admire her to dying, she became into and nevertheless is definitely one of my best gf's...yet issues have replaced notwithstanding if the two persons desires to admit or no longer. i think of (and that i would be only announcing this as a results of fact I even have yet to be married), that alot of those that get married have forgotten what it relatively is decide to be "me" somewhat than "we". I mean, "we" is lovable...yet only for specific issues. i think of alot of girls persons who're married would desire to nevertheless keep in mind that they are persons, regrettably alot of newly weds are nevertheless in the 1st tiers of "wedding ceremony bliss" After a jointly as she would recognize what she's doing is hurtful to you. I thoroughly comprehend why you will stay away from speaking along with her, somewhat in case you sense like she's thinking your non-married life. i do no longer comprehend, I hate being in those circumstances the place you're with a team of associates at a social gathering..and you happen to be around all your married one's and that they say "so whilst are you getting married...?"

I confess I was one of those friends, when I got married I kind of just left my friends behind,I was too busy with my new life as a married woman. I do regret it. I have missed so much. You will always need your friends.
