What should I research in India for my senior thesis?

Question

I am a Geography and Geology student and I would like to come up with a good senior thesis which would prepare me for the phd program in the Geology Dept. I am interested in Geomorphology, Human Ecology, Mass Movements, Tectonics and Geographic Information Science. I am particularly interested in the Kashmir region or anywhere along the base of the Himilayas on the India/ South side. Any ideas?
