I am 37 weeks pregnant and I haven't lost my mucus plug yet and yet I'm 2 centimeters dialated and having inconsistant contractions. My doctor said it could be soon or it could take another 2-3 weeks. She also said that the baby hasn't dropped yet. What is going on with me??? I am sooooo miserable and I just wish this would be over. Anyone have this same problem??

I've been having these contractions for 3 days now like this and it's driving me crazy. It hurts to go to the bathroom even though it feels like I have to really bad. (lots of pressure)

Being preggers in the summer sucks and I hope you have a nice cool place to be in. I've had 3 of my friends go through summer pregnancies, and each was different. there isn't anything wrong with you, all of my friends started dilating anywhere from 2-4 weeks before their babies came, and one didn't lose her plug till the week she delivered. Relax, and trust your doctor, you don't want the baby to come too soon. Good luck, and God bless you both.

Two centimeters is nothing to write home about. I have five kids and only noticed the mucus plug going on a couple of them--during active labor, at 42 weeks, usually! I had braxton-hicks contractions regularly the entire end of my pregnancy. Babies apparently often wait to drop until labor if you've had one before. Lots of people have been tired of being pregnant, it does go away. It would be best to tell yourself that you will have to wait until at least your due date, so that you aren't making yourself the proverbial "watched pot" that never boils. Don't time your contractions unless they hurt. Go for some good walks, entertain yourself! Maybe you'll get lucky and go early. But there is a reason that they say pregnancy averages 40 weeks...some of us do go longer. :-)
