The way they're being raised. Computers and indoor stuff are far more prevalent so kids aren't used to entertaining themselves in the ways that kids had ordinarily done for generations beforehand

I'd say the way they are being raised. However, it's not like blaming the parents, more like society. 15 years ago there weren't 5+ video gaming systems, digital cable, online gaming, and things to choose from. These advances became part of our everyday lives. Less parents stay home now too, leaving technology to babysit.

Outdoors is part of my life today. It is how I was raised and I don't put any pressure on my children (13 & 6) to come with me. But, given the choice to go horseback riding, riding four wheelers, their bikes, sitting outside and talking, hunting and fishing or playing on the computer, they choose outdoor life every time. I believe that we are products of our environment. So, I think it is all in the way you raise them.

in some cases this habit is cultivated by the parents so that they need not worry abt the safety of the kids when out .this is mainly because there is no joint family systems where a dhadhi or nanni is around to see to the safety of the kid
children of present days have no stamina to run around for they r fed with junk foods which their parents carry when back from office

no it ant it is just funner to stay inside and play game other than go outside in hot sun or snow you can do all that in realty game it is fun tell who ever it is to try vmk it is fun and it is online 15hours of the day and it is on here 900 in the morning to 1200 at night

its because kids didnt have the luxory of computers, awsome games, and the ultimat choice of being lazy,15 years ago.
plus im afraid to go outside.......... (dont want to get mugged by the gansta wannabes that are here)

I stay inside, but I love being outside! I just don't have any friends who live close enough!
Time is changing.....& it's very disappointing!
