What is a good way to deal with a message board pest? It's a 16 year old girl who posts insults and highly pornographic content. The boards have been wiped clean twice and will be shut down, apparently banning IP addresses is not in the power of the board moderators so anyone have any tips/tricks? It just boils my blood that a friggin' baby can get away with this time and again.

I like the age-limit thing but how do you enforce it online? Also ignoring her makes her very happy, well it probably doesnt but she ups her posting tenfold if you do. I really don't like that kid.

If she can get away again and again then I'm afraid there's nothing you can do except report it (but I guess you already did that.) Sorry I couldn't be of further help.

The board moderators of the site you speak of should know to contact the board's administrator(s). They Administrator has the ability to ban IP addresses. This option is even available on boards that are hosted for free.
Short of banning the IP address, the only option is the annoying one...delete all posts and the user once he/she signs up for another user name. If this person enjoys terrorizing the site, they will just come back with another. This will be an ongoing process until the spammer finds something else to do with his time.
Best of luck to you and all others on the board. Sounds like if they don't ban the IP address, they'll have quite the battle on their hands.

If this is a meesage board that you belong to on Yahoo the moderators can do something about it. They can go to members and at the top is a ban this member button they can click.
They can also send any of her messages that she posts to the Yahoo abuse site and Yahoo will ban her.
If its MSN or Google I would think that they have similar things for instances like this.
If the moderators can't ban her, which I find fishy for them to say then the owner of the message board can and should.

If the IP address can't be banned by the Moderators, but is visible..... then use the tools at http://www.samspade.org to trace the Internet Provider she's hooked up to and report her.
If it's on one of the free messageboard services........ most of which I found are a load of cack 'cos you can hardly do bugger-all with them......... the board owner / moderators would be better off upgrading to a premium webhosting package such as that offered by http://www.1and1.co.uk and installing YaBB from http://www.yabbforum.com/ (that's what I did eventually, since the free services were starting to p*ss me off).
With one of the posher webhosting packages like I suggested, you can block the buggers with a .htaccess file:
http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess.shtml
(another advantage is you can run your own Google AdSense adverts on it, instead of the hosts sponging off your site/board visitors.... but that's another story).
If the board moderators / admin can't / won't do jacksh*t about it, you'd probably be better off setting one up yourself the way I suggested, and take other disgruntled board members with you en-masse in protest.

There are some cliques right here that purely answer each and every others questions and spend lots time appearing like they are so hilarious (even as they are so not!). they particularly a lot ignore and exclude others....and that i'm particular jealousy performs a function in that.

Can her IP and/or username be blocked? Or have an age-limit on the boards.

May I suggest that a good way to deal with her may be a cattle prod? Alternatively, tell her mum who should ground her for, oooh, like a week.

request that your board be upgraded so that users can "ignore" other users. Works wonders.

If you ignore her it will irritate her more than being frustrated :) Just ignore her and she will go away :)
