In a perfect world communism would be a perfect system, but the world is evil and full of greed an corruption and those are two things that make communism an impossible ideal.

Communism is practical if economy is the only factor that guides people's minds. When we see rest of the world lives in a better way, naturally any one will have the tendency to forsake any ism and run behind convenience. Communism is political slavery. If an individual can see slavery as freedom, communism can survive. Communism saved people under literal slavery to political slavery. For some time people will enjoy the difference and that mental situation is not permanent.
In today's world communism has no scope and there is no community that can be saved by communism to a better level of life.
Communism has beautiful theories that are not practical in today’s world. Always there is a better life elsewhere.

None of the "Isms" (religions are obsolete)are 100% applicable at all times. As communism accepts. Change is something which never changes. Since change is the base of life, "Isms" and "religions" are stagnant and impractical if it is being applied at all times. (To cure some social desease, some forms of those can be adapted. for e.g: If there is a complete anarchy in a place, even obselete religion can be used to unite(Gandhiji used that to unite Indians). But, if the society gets stuck there, there will be decay again which will lead to some other desease)
If we have the capability to apply the required amount of prescribed medicine whenever required as per the quantity required, all the deseases can be treated then and there. We live in an imperfect world trying to become perfect beings. All experiments should be done and action to be taken immediately by seeing the illness of that society at that point of time...that can be done by only perfect beings. Since there is no such thing exists, a perfect society is also not possible. But, I am sad of bursting a beautiful dream of "All socialist world". Let me carry that dream for some more time......

Communism for the developing countries, specially where the basic amenities are not available with the common man is the most practical approach. But once, the people get the minimum basic amenities like food, shelter and water there should not be such a thing called communism. As, this world is run on the competition. It common human tendency to compare himself/herself with others. In fact people start believing themselves only when society they live in recognize them. So what I mean is communism is no longer practical system.

ABSOLUTELY... but it goes out the window when you factor in humans with the innate traits of greed, the desire to control and rule and weld power, petty jealousies, emotional outburts... etc. Just look at an ant colony and see communism at work... or look at the hierchy of any religious group.
Communism on paper is not only practical but it is the thing that can end war, famine, hunger, suffering, diseases, ignorance... but what you read is not what man practices so it becomes a total sham!
There is a need for strict checks and balances in communism, as we need so badly in democracies but are the checks and balances needed for accountability are kept out of the picture by currupt, conniving, lying, cheating politicians that never fail to betray our trust and the public's best interest.

A political ideology stemming from higher ideals, and yet always manages to fall into tyrannism. Why is that? Any laws that are imposed by a power machine up in a hierarchical structure will find it's opponents or deteriorate on it's on shortcomings. You cannot force the idea of equality, or i prefer complete eradication of poverty, but you can gently instill these virtuous idealisms in our heads while we are impressionable little kiddies. The rets will take care of itself,....but a communist superpower cannot work,....we humans are a pitiful bunch. Most just don't want to share.....

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Communism is nothing more than a cheap excuse for dictatorship. Centralizing power to a select few only prevents the people from engaging in their political future. I don't want to be treated like one in a herd of sheep! Democracy may not be perfect, but at least we have a say in who does what. When was the last time you voted?

Communism is not practical. It does not work because it is an attempt to create an ideal economic and political system where everyone is perfectly equal with everyone else. Everybody owns everything together and everything is shared equally. The problem is that not everyone wants to be perfectly equal with all others, some people believe they are better than others and that it is their right to get ahead, even if they have to commit crime to do so.
