My inlaws don't like me because I am english speaking and they are afrikaans. This causes alot of problems as we seem to just fight over them. My father in law has come out and said he would do anything to break up our marriage - even to go as far as inviting my hubbys ex to visit so that they can rekindle their affair! What do I do.I can't stand them either as they treat my children with terrible disdain and all because i am there mother and they take after me and not them!!! Help I am at my wits end!!!!!!!

You need to set them straight and tell them its not their marriage, its yours and your husband's marriage. Tell them its none of their business in what you and he does, after all you are adults and have children. They need to learn their boy is grown and can chose himself who to be married to. If this doesnt work, then tell your husband you are tired of the in-laws abuse and you are going to move out with the kids until he wises up and stands up against them.

I would talk to your hubby and ask him to help defend you. Maybe if he makes it very clear to his parents that you aren't going anywhere, and that you are the one he wants to be with forever, they will stop trying to break you two up. He should also tell them that their grandkids are his too, and therefore a part of them, and they should treat them as such. And if they refuse, then I would not bring your children around them, they don't need to be treated that way.
