They knew they had no chance after the whitewash test series, so the excuse of security.
I mean we all know LTTE is after the lankans or the Indians, they have no issue with whites, but who runs away on security issues? It is the South Africans and the Indians and Sri Lankan team which are really the targets stay to play :))

The reason cited by South Africa to pull out from Unitech Cup was "Security reason"

This behaviour of pulling out from cricket events after a Bomb Blast occurs in host country is more common to Australia and South Africa . This may be because these countries haven't seen the kind of terrorist attacks as in India,Pakistan , Sri Lanka and even some Terror acts in UK .So they have a higher fear factor and so more prone to pulling out , inspite of better security Assurances by the Local Authorities .

They are too faraid of violence.......Indians and Sri Lanks are brought up in such a atmosphere that Bomb Blasts don't scare us.They are sure the blasts were not meant for them.
But the South Africans are not like us. They got scared cause of blasts.
But I think the real reason is that they are afraid playing us. They know Tendulkar is back and Jayawardane is in top form. So blasts gave them an excuse to back off......

May be they were fed-up with their loosing streak in Sri Lanka. And they got a lucky chance to go back home and take rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
