Pune / Hyderabad / Bangalore
Bangalore is on the higher side in terms of living cost. but you will definitely enjoy the weather there. Apart from this three, there are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata. Chennai. All the above mentioned cities do have good infrastructure/educational institutions/job oppurtunities with respect to what we can have in India.

Hyderabad Sound pronunciation? or Haydarābād (Telugu: హైదరాబాదు Urdu: حیدر آباد ) is the capital city of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. With more than 6 million people (60 lakh), it is India's 5th largest metropolis [1] and the 36th largest metropolitan area in the world. It is known for its rich history, culture and architecture representing its unique characteristic of a meeting point for north and south India, and its multi lingual culture, both geographically and culturally. Hyderabad is a place where Hindus and Muslims have been co-existing for centuries. It is also one of the most developed cities in the country and is the emerging IT and biotech hub of India. Hyderabad and Secunderabad are twin cities, separated by Husain Sagar (also known as Tank Bund), an artificial lake constructed during the time of Ibrahim Qutb Shah in 1562. The Charminar (Urdu: "Four Minars") monument, built in the center of Hyderabad by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah in 1591 as a commemoration of the eradication of a plague.

Bangalore is the worst, very unsafe, no night life, no social bonding. Everyone just concerned about showing off their posh houses and cars. Delhi is not safe at all. Mumbai is on the verge of breakdown. Its reaches its limit. In such a scenario Pune and Coimbatore are better places to live with resepect to job opportunities, education, cost of living.

Pune is a fantastic place to live. There are many colleges there. The weather there is better than in any other big city except maybe in Bangalore. It's less crowded than in the other cities. Many companies there in heavy manufacturing and technology. Reasonably decent night life and cultural happenings.

Delhi is a painful place to live. Too crowded and aggressive, and the people there are loud and belligerant in public. (Although they're still generous and thoughtful, like most other Indians, with their friends in private.)

Incidentally, I'm American, so that you know what context I'm coming from. I'm not sure what George is getting at above regarding potential dangers in India. In general, I'd say that India requires a lot of flexiblity. Also, It's a VERY safe place for a male to live. Less safe for women, but I know a lot of non-Indian women who have loved living there.
