I don't like Xena... too pop culture-ish.

It's moon name is Gabrielle.

Xena is a great name for the Xth planet.

However, I disagree with calling Charon or Ceres planets.

Charon is a moon of Pluto, not a planet. If Charon is a planet, then what about Luna (our own moon), it's larger than Charon. Jupiter and Saturn have moons larger than Charon, too. They would have to be planets, too.

Ceres shares an orbital belt with thousands of asteroids. While it is the largest, it accounts for less than 1/2 the mass of the asteroids. Therefore, I don't consider it a planet.

I'm not too sure I like Xena... it makes one think of TV hotties dressed in barely enough clothing and bouncing across the screen! It'd be like calling the planet Lucas or Roddenberry (although those two would be MUCH preferred over Xena).

Why not Fama... she is the Goddess of Fame and Rumour (and it is a REAL goddess not something made up for Hollywood)?

I like them, they sound like planet names. Actually, except Xena I have no idea how to pronounce them. Ceres and Charon? WTH?

The name sucks!
Xena is not a mythological name!
Following the Roman Gods' names given to other planets, why not Ulysses or Vulcan?

I agree with hyperhealer3. Instead of Xena, why not Xenos? According to Wikipedia, "Xenos (Greek ξένος, xénos) is a word used in ancient Greek...that means both foreigner (in the sense of a person from another Greek state) and such a person brought into a relationship of long distance friendship."

I think a lot of things have bad names, but once you get used to them they dont seem too bad! So if you just cant get used to the names in a couple of years... then the names were horrible!
