The same outlet? (not the same plug-there is no extension cord being used) This is a regular grounded socket, not one designed for a fridge or stove.
I wonder if it's a fire hazard or if this is why the fridge doesn't seem to get cold enough.

yup you wondered right over loading circuts is a fire hazard but usually just blows fusesmove one to another outlet which ius on a different fuse

not a good idea if they both cycle on at the same time the lock rottor amps of both being 3 times the running load amps will most likely trip the breaker if this happens when you are not home your stuff will go bad and stuff

Depends on the amp rating of the circuit breaker on that circuit.
