Your first priority in this (and every) age group is safety. Is your home child proofed? These kids will kill themselves if given even half a chance. They will choke on coins, drink Clorox, put their fingers into light sockets, use the TV stand to pull themselves up causing the TV to topple on top of them, fall out of windows, the list goes on and on.

As far as entertaining them, that's easy. Food, Sesame Street, reading stories, playing with the dog (supervised).

Hope you like changing diapers.

Play play play. They starve for attention and room to crawl/run and lots of books to read to them, fun movies to watch, safe finger foods to munch on, fun activities in water, dirt, with cups (stacking), blocks (building then crashing them down), etc.

Good luck!
you'll do just fine:)
