Nicolas Cage isn't the reason I'm eagerly awaiting the new Ghost Rider movie, but I do think they did a good job of casting him as Johnny Blaze. Much better than when it was considered to cast him as Superman. As for the person who didn't know who Ghost Rider was, you'll never get 10 points that way, but here's some links for both of them. I think most people agree the original is the best. Of course, Danny Ketch was no slouch either, & was even in the short-lived New Fantastic Four with Spider-Man, gray Hulk, & Wolverine.

No, I too am a flame-head-phile. Yes, GR is one of the most visual superheroes, yes it should be good - but then look at Batman & Robin, Punisher (the Dolph Lungren version) or (worse) Captain America with the (in)famous rubber ears. Comic movies can be very hit and miss, and I fear that this will be a miss. Pity.

As for Nick Cage - he has been trying to break into a comic-based movie for years. He took his last name from Luke Cage, Powerman (his real last name is Coppola), he was amongst the first names mentioned when GR was first being talked about, he was considered for Superman Returns (and that would have been a mistake - heck, Brandon Routh was a mistake for Superman, no WAY was he super - he slouched), he should have been cast as Constantine (sorry to say, but he carries off washed up/worn out very well)... Did you know he has a GR tattoo and had to have it covered up for filming?

Im really excited. 1st of all I think that Cage is probably the first actor to portray a comic book character that really understands the psychy of character he will play. 2nd hopefully he will stay true to the concept of the character lets not forget that Cage at one time was an avid comic book collector untill he was forced to sell his beloved collection and the request of his now ex wife Lisa, which by the way sold for well over a million dollars. We are talking some priceless issues including Amazing Spiderman #1. I believe he had several number 1 first print issues. 3rd he was very bitter over the sale afterwards with his actions as a requested by his ex. Remember to marry a woman who likes comic books. I did.

You are definitely not the only person. There are at least two people apparently, you and me. I'm even glad that they pushed the release date back to get the visuals looking better. When it comes to Nick Cage, his movies seem to be either really good (National Treasure, Raising Arizona, Face Off) or really missable (Lord of War, The Weather Man). Still, I'm dragging whoever is home Feb. 16th, 2007 out to the movies with me.

I am as excited as I normally am for movies that I want to see (not terribly excited by normal standards) but it isn't because of Nicolas Cage, I don't even like him that much.

I don't feel the excitement that I felt with Spider-man, Daredevil, Batman, Superman, Blade and X-Men.

I look forward to this movie and you are right, Nick is a wonderful actor.

I am looking forward to it and I think Cage could work out in the role.
Did you know that he was considered as the new Superman? I don't think he would've done that very well.
