Cambridge and Oxford are like Harvard and Princeton, but much older. I don't know if you can say they're better; it really depends on what criteria you use.

The most widely cited world university rankings is conducted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and lists Harvard as #1, Cambridge as #2, Princeton as #8, and Oxford as #10.

You can check out the list yourself.

They are very good universities. As to whether they are "better" depends on your criteria for what constitutes a good university. (Is it the training they offer? Their faculty? The doors they open upon graduation? etc.)

There is one big difference: both Oxford and Cambridge are public universities whereas Harvard and Princeton are private. I suspect there are significant differences when it comes to cost.
