My friend currently runs a corporation. I work as his secretary and he wants to add my name to
his s corp business checking account. However, he overdrafts his checking account a lot and I was
wondering if it would effect me since I have a good relationship with the bank on my personal
accounts? Thanks for any advice

There should not be an issue here if you are simply listed as a business signatory.

If you still feel uncomfortable, however, you can check with the bank to find out their policies and practices.

Hope this helps!

Is he giving you total control of the account so it won’t be overdrawn? Make sure the bank knows not to report you to cheq system, telecheck or the credit bureau since you employer may require you to have access to that account. Otherwise, I would say no.
