I didn't audition for American Idol, but I did audition for the X Factor in the UK. Fact is, unless you get past the first audition you never get to see Simon Cowell. You see a person from the show and a person from the record company.
It was a great experience, but in this country, I don't think the best singers get through. It is all down to how you look. Reuben, Bo, Carrie et al. are far better than anyone we have had on our show. The people who win The X Factor don't tend to be very successful. It is a sever case of manufactured pop.

I heard that the first few audtions (that they dont tape) he is nice but when the cameras are rolling he does whatever he can to make people embarssed
