Is there a answer thats not costly? there is no signs of mold or water damages!!

Place bounce fabric sheets between the pages of the books, place them in a large zip lock bag and let sit for about a week or more. It really works good.

Lay the book open in the sun, turn the pages often. This should eliminate the odor. Try sprinkling baking soda on some of the pages. If you have a feather duster, use that to remove the baking soda.
