We are only allied with parts of Pakistan. Remember Pakistan's president took over in a coup. so 30% of the people are going to oppose anything he does no matter how much it might help them.

The US has no interest in catching Osama, he serves a purpose if he is on the loose(the American population needs that bad guy out there or shall I say the US government does) He is the face of evil to Americans, he gets the blame for god knows what no matter if he had anything to do with it or not, it's quite amazing if you watch the news how much attention he gets these days. He is a big part of the propaganda machine concerning the so called war on terror which actually doesn't exist. He serves a purpose, plan and simple. Imagine if he was caught, the US government would have a harder time getting all the simpletons to go along with their insane ideas on how to conduct foreign policy.

Some analysts are of the opinion that This is a game being played by Pakistan. They know where he is and he can be captured or he is already captured and in the custody of Musharraf. They are unwilling to go any further because America will loose interest in Pakistan and all funds will dry up.

Maybe America does not wanna capture Ossama, Maybe America wants to keep him to prove to the world that Terrorism is still a great danger in order to justify their wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Which America claims that these wars are mainly to fight terrorism well in fact they have other reasons.

because he is hiding in a region whose people all would gladly die for him (they also all carry assault rifles as a habit), because musharraf doesn't have the political support to bring more resources to the hunt because he would lose the support of the super-conservative mullahs who support him. because as long as he is out there, we have a poster boy for the war on terror, and because it's not that easy to find someone on his home turf, who has plenty of support, and who is very good at hiding anyways

Surely Pakistanis and Americans know about his hiding point. But it seems that it is not to their benefit to tell the truth in order to deceit the people and proceed their own policies.
