The tv should be quite old as this problem will only happen to old tv. Sounds like the fuse is burning out.
There is another possibility. Check the socket that connects with the antenna. If it is lose or rusty, sometimes it causes this effect.
But, you really should consider changing a new one. I know how frsutrating it is when this happen when your tv suddenly turns blank during your favorite show.

The picture tube has absolutely nothing to do with this problem. Also a fuse is not the problem.
Loss of antenna signal will never do what you are describing.
None of the recommendations above really have any idea of understanding your problem.
If it shows a horizontal line - the vertical sweep is not functioning. Seeing a line indicates you do have high voltage working, along with horizontal sweep. If TV begins to function OK after a period of time - then you may have a loose connection or other failure in the vertical sweep circuit.
Not worth putting a lot of money into it, but a local repair shop may offer to look at it and offer an estimate. Intermittants can be difficult to locate.

you have to take it to workshop since you dont know anything electronically. There are few reasongs for the tvs to act this crazy , one is picture tube gone. another is the eht coil. and few other reasons which an electronic mechanic would find for you. if its a picture tube problem, its not worth repairing it go for a new tv with new features.
