Gibson and Fenders are completely overrated. Unless you want to get a nice strat or a nice les paul you have to spend the money for it. Going with Epiphone guitars isn't a bad choice if you really wanted a Gibson style model. Ibanez are great intermediate guitars and you really get alot bang for your buck. Yamahas are strictly beginner guitars and even the mid-range priced ones are still kind of iffy. PRS (Paul Reed Smiths) are nice but you have to pay for it. Pretty much you have to asked yourself what type of player you are and how much you're willing to spend. I went with ibanez because like I said you really get alot of bang for you buck. Nice Designs, good prices and sound is pretty good. I would steer clear of B.C rich, Washburn, LTD, ESP, and all those because they sell alot of those cheapo guitars that aren't really good, and their higher up models aren't impressive either. Schecter's are nice, they sound good and other alot of features for a good price like Ibanez but are moderately difficult to play due the fret board feel. I hope you could take away something from this. Happy buying and playing!

All of those brands are good. Is not on the guitar that makes a good sound, it's you as guitar player that matter most, whether you play good or not.
