A very small amount. Only about ten small bites of infant cereal. Only feed solid food once per day at first.

My baby boy is 7mo. He wasn't satisfied with just milk, so I started him on baby food @ 4 mos. & he usually eats 3 small (2.5 oz) jars every meal, after milk, plus 5- 9 oz of juice. But He is a big boy for his age. He's been sitting up for 3 mo. & has been tring to walk for a while. He is bigger than alot of 18.mos. olds that i have seen. He is my first, & I'm not sure what is average. Every baby is different.

I started by preparing her 1 tsp of rice with formula a day, then after a week we moved it to 2, then a tbsp. Now at 5 months she will eat a tbsp of cereal mixed with an ounce of formula and a tbsp of fruit or veggies. Sometimes if she's particularly hungry she will eat this twice.

1 jar a day. 1/2 the first part 1/2 the second time (in the late afternoon or early evening).

I also just started my baby on rice cereal. That's the best for their indigestion (not the jar food yet. too early for that).
