Isn't that illegal? At least unethical? Definitely inconsiderate! 'Cause it is an expense and inconvenience to
move. And he said it like he was mad at me. "Start lookin'" as if, start lookin' for another place. At first he didn't quite have the guts to be specific and he said "look at other buildings" as if, another unit in the same complex, then when I said, " oh in this complex?"

If a landlord needs to get you out because the unit needs serious repairs that can't be completed with you living there, there are certain laws they have to follow.

Here they must return your security deposit immediately, and many times a tenant is entitled to relocation monies.

You really need to check with a lawyer in your area about what can be done for you in this instance.

My best suggestions are to go to the websites I listed below. I don't know what state you live in, therefore I cannot give you any definite advise. But if you cannot find what you are looking for you definitely need to go talk to a lawyer, if you can afford it. If not, you're better off cutting your losses and just moving out.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE HIS REQUEST FOR YOU TO MOVE IN WRITING! And he has no more than 45 days in most states in which to return your security deposits. Please read all of the Renter's Rights before you move. Do it the right way so you are not legally or financially burden because of his leaky roof.

examine your employ settlement. in case you do not have it, ask the condo complicated to provide you a replica. regrettably, this settlement, of that you'll have signed previous to shifting in, will likely say that when you're requested to leave because you've been in violation to any of their regulations, you'll nevertheless be to blame for something else of the quantity owed. Get a criminal professional and do not settle for any responsibility verbal or written to those human beings.

Time to move, period.

This landlord is nothing but trouble and will cost you $$ in deposits, court costs...

No excuses, no compromises, no whining - move out immediately...
