I've had my tongue pierced twice and both times it went really fast. First they line up where the needle will go then it's over in a second. Biting your tongue hurts worse than getting it pierced too.

The guy who did mine (i have 2 tongue piercings now - my boyfriend love it!) put the needle through at an even pace, not too fast so it ripped, by not so slow that i felt i was in hell either.

Just get it done by someone who has professional piercing qualifications...we've all seen the movie rat race havent we? We know what happens if you dont...

And never EVER let them use a gun, it is actually illegal to use a gun on anywhere but the nose and ears

Depends on the piercer. Most I've seen do it quickly, though. To prevent swelling, take ibuprofen right before the piercing and take a cup of crushed ice with you. Suck on the ice as soon as it's done.

It takes some time but for such a work of art you have to go through it. But believe me the pain is worth it.

SOme people use a gun, so I would say it's rather quick.
