Vietnam was totally a war of valour and gallant for both the sides. The commando war fare of Vietcong was clearly exhibhitted.
Very Senior Ranked US Army, Navy & Airforce officers were imprisoned by Vietcong and US cannot deny this truth.
US & UK forces expected that they will conquer easily and rule Iraq. But the story was different from their dream decision.
They entered in Iraq without UN Security council's approval, Once the casuality limits exceeded, they want to quit, quitting is not so easy now!! Convincing the fighting Iraqis also not so easy!
Earlier Iraqis were divided during Sadham Hussain's time. It is now further divided and a lot of foreign mercenaries or the Islamic Terrorists, Jihadis entered under the large flag of Taliban
after saluting Osama Binladin.
I believe now, Osama is slightly on the upper hand compared to the invaders.
Once Invaded with an intention/ambition why they want to look back? Transfer all the US reservists to Iraq and fight a full fledged war against terrorism. But the loser is US & UK for taking unncesssary trouble and they have opened a new battle field/front for Taliban to score off their(Taliban) anger in Afghanistan.
Former friends of US & UK - 50% foes - friends now.
Once hurt, more these terrorist gangs will damage the countries that harmed them more with an open challenge.
While the challenge is out, the battle field will be very large in size and lot of small countries will be forced to share the expenses and man power?
Already it was noticed by some people, a number of South Asian Origin able men are moving towards Iraq in darkness.
So who is the winner?

Becoming? I has been another Vietnam for some time. Worse actually because it a low caliber civil war. When one side kills 50 one day, then the other goes out and kills 62 for pay back, and visa verse, that is a civil war. But you can not can not say civil war or Vietnam around a neocon. They do not want to admit what is evident because the hive has not declared it, and they just hate to be wrong, or admit defeat. They would burn in a building trying to fight the fire with one small gallon bucket then to admit the fire was too big for them to put out. When this thing drags on long enough so even those loser who enlist because they can't get a real job, stop showing up, and they have to install a draft. then many borderline neocons will sing a different tune.

USA was following ani-communist policy All these wars were fought for this cause.
In Iraq the situation is different. Objectives probably could have been achieved without invading Iraq. There was complete lack of trust. Saddam invasion of Kuwait was historical blunder.
Situation would probably have been better if United Nations was involved.
Now foreign troops are essential for the safety of Iraqi people and for avoiding civil war

Up to last election it was winning issue for politician to hide their failings.

You are apparently too young to be familiar with the vet Nam fiasco..There was no army to back them up, as there is in Iraq now. Also of vital importance, it was the politicians of the time, and the ones they stirred up to be against the war, that turned it into a defeat..They were actually winning until all this political interference got in the way.
The same thing happened in the Korean war. And now they are trying to do it again.. Need to also recall who was in charge of congress at that time and wants to be again!!
