Ignorance begets ignorance.
Nowhere was this more true than the *if one innocent non-briton person has to die...* ethos exhibited by Britons after the brutal slaying of Jean Charles de Menezes.
Were any of the last batch of terrorists Britons?
No.
Does that mean Britons do not practice terrorism?
No.
Virgin.
FHM.
Countless other corporate culturally imperialistic demagogues who mercilessly shove their useless crap in addition to their way of life down everyone's throat.
Yes, many of the 7/7 bombers were English, born and bred.
The problem is not the cult of islam.
Nor is the problem the cult of christ.
The problem is the idiots who always NEED to have an ultimate evil to act as the zoroastrian couterpart to their sorrowful sufferer of good.
See-England, America, Hitler, Mussolini, Maggie Thatcher, Both Bushes, Tony up-george's-bum Blair, Winston (superracist) Churchill, and countless others.

Bravo-someone (candi) had the sense to ask for clarity of the question instead of vomiting out a reactionary response. England is not alone in its ignorance. However, they are very much on par, if not surpassing America with the superiority complex-see Adrian's troglodytic response. Ignorant-lacking education or knowledge. stop_trying said it best in his/her ridiculous attempt at rebuttal, which turned out to be an affirmation of the original statement.
1) the attitude of people after the de Meneze killing was based on the conflicting stories that were circulating at the time.
This is the ignorance of which I speak.
To not have the knowledge is merely ignorant. To not have the knowledge and act as if you do-doubly ignorant.

To clarify for the intellectually challenged Euphojim as well; look up the word metonymy, the pen is mightier than the sword of a thousand cave dwellers. The vast amount of profanity used in the pseudointellectual responses only prove this ignorance further.

2) anyone who remembers the IRA/ UDA etc doesn't need you to tell them that Britons are capable of terrorism.
3) Don't like Virgin? Don't shop there.
Don't like FHM? Don't buy it.
4) most world leaders are *** holes who will do what they can to stay in power and make themselves rich........not exactly news is it?

England or the English are not ignorant, we are just superior and have difficulty coping with idiots who will blame anybody else for their own stupid behaviour. At least, when we make a mistake, which is rare, we have the courage to admit it. The young man who was shot at the tube station, however tragic, did not respond to Police instructions for whatever reasons, now only known to himself. Sadly. Ask yourself, if you were an armed Police officer and were told, there is a terrorist, and he did not follow your instructions to stop etc. What would you think?

as far as we know , england is neither ignorant , nor a country which can be blamed for any wrong thing happening in the world,
It is the uk who is preventing so many things which otherwise will result in big world disasters .
The ignorance you mention happen in almost all the countries and not once so many times , also please note that the mistakes of the rulers shall not be considerd the mistakes of the people , blair has to keep his friend happy , other wise he knows well , even more than you and me
Frankly speaking uk is the world leader , the only problem is its unconditional supprt to the us, while the world is against the us

Interesting..I'm not sure what you are saying though. Yes..I'm disappointed that Tony Blair has acted like Bush's puppet. It's surprised me since he really seems like a decent fellow.
And, I think England is asking itself how and why there are terrorists operating in the country. But I guess again, I'd say I don't know what you're asking.

You are the ignorant one!

The 7/7 bombers were born and bred in the UK yes but they were not European Englishmen with any love or pride for the country. They were the children of Pakistani parents and they saw themselves as Pakistanis and Muslims not as British.

Most children of immigrants like this in the UK identify with the country their family came from not with Britain.

What shite! Go and educate yourself you moron!!!

England is a country and by definition cannot be accused of ignorance. You should not assume that the British Media or the British Government speak on behalf of the British people.

I don't agree with some of the views separating 'the people' from 'the government'. We have the government we deserve and there is not a sufficient collective will or desire to change things as of yet.

Usual nutter stuff you get here.
Angry individual seething in a cupboard with the door taken off.
Thr sort who used to wear two sides of plywood with a stupid slogan and accost passers-by with leaflets.
Still a nutter though.

I agree with Pradeep K.

You just have to look at the language skills of the average Brit to see how much they actually want to know about the rest of the world.

(and yes I am British)
