Avoid sugar b/c you'll crash. I'm fond of Mt. Dew. The cold and the caffeine really wake you up.

I did this when I was 15 when my parents had to stay somewhere all night and I was all alone: it was actually in a large mug my Dad got from the police station. I made a huge pot of coffee and filled that mug up twice to the top and loaded it with tons of sugar and creamer. I drank both cups at like 10:00 PM. I think I started hallucinating. I tried to go to sleep, and my house was empty because we were moving and it seemed weird. My cat was walking around the whole house meowing and it started snowing. My dog was growling at nothing and I heard all these freaky noises inside and outside and then heard scratching at my back door. It was a black bear. I remember I was so scared, and I could NOT fall asleep no matter how hard I tried. All thanks to all that coffe I drank. I had never had coffe before, and have never had it since.

A healthy way to stay awake is by eating an apple (strange I know), but its been said that an apple can wake you up just as much as a whole cup of coffee...
so maybe this can be a healthier alternative while youre hunting down the bad guys :)

Too much caffeine can mess with your mind and you sorta sorta have a melt down. Amazingly the best thing I've found during University was just to drink coffee and use Visine. A lot of people fall asleep because their eyes are sore. Visine works wonders.
I was able to do five straight days before I started to trip out and hallucinate.

Coffee, Red Bull, Monster take your pick. They will help in keeping you up but staying awake all night? You might need something a little stronger but that would be illegal. Good Luck

Keeping busy and choc cover espresso beans work for this NOC shift girl. Find something you don't like and keeps you awake and use it. I hate being cold - can't sleep well if I am so if I need to stay up I drink ice water and use a fan. Hope it helps.

Hoenstly I dont think anyhthing can keep you awake all night unless yuor taking a drug, which might I add wouldnt be the ebst choice:(.
I'd think you will eventially get used to it, is this your first night shift job?
This is why I never work nights, i'd be the one curled up into a ball in my cop car:(.
But seriously it takes time, and you will survive.

Its proven that apples will wake you faster than coffee. There is also a new medication out called Privigil that is wonderful for helping you not feel tired and keeping mentally alert. I am a nurse that works the night shift, and this medicine is great!!!!!!!

Just keep drinking coffee or anything with caffeine. I also keep eating sugary foods. It keeps your blood sugar up whenever it is digested so you will be able to stay up all night long. Also, juice is great. Good luck
