I like artists and pieces of art from most periods from Ancient Egyptian to Modern. What I like best: Medieval Art including illuminated manucripts, Renaissance Art - Giotto, Raphael, DaVinci, Michaelangelo, Botticelli, Fra Angelico, Holbein, then 18th C artist and poet William Blake, 19th cent: Redon, Gustav Moreau, Monet, Gaugin,
20th cent: Jackson Pollack, Clyfford Still.

I think the Louvre is probably the biggest and most comprehensive collection, exclusive of modern art although can't recall if they have Impressionist work either. I like the Metropolitan Museum in NY which has quite a large collection from Egyptian to Modern. The National Gallery in London has a good collection as does the Uffizi in Florence.

No one museum can really hold it all. It takes mutiple museums.

I don't think there's just one 'world's best art museum' because museums tend to specialize in specific areas of art or specific time frames. The Getty, as an example, wouldn't have a Picasso or Dali within it's walls. The Guggenheim wouldn't have a Remington. The Louvre seems to be stuck in time. You get the idea.

Probably the best showcase in America that displays the largest cross-section of art is our own National Gallery Of Art.

As to what type of art I like, it varies greatly from modern to the old Masters.

In my opinion, the world's best art museum is in Paris, The Louve. I enjoy all kinds of art, but especially Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet, O'Keefe, and sculpture.

Everything is an art I believe, be it cooking, driving, sewing...... we have limited ourselves to view only painting as an art. Painting is an art that satisfies us visually, music satisfies us mentally, food gastranomically, etc etc.So art is for anyone who can appreciate finer things in life. Me I am an artist I like cooking, scrapbooking and listening to a bit of music.
Having said that for painting I believe it is the Louvre but ask a mother about her 2 yr old's latest color fest and she will swear that her child can do it better than Picasso!

If you're asking about paintings, then my favorite are impressionists and, kind of obviously, my choice is Musée d'Orsay in Paris (www.musee-orsay.fr/) which probably has the best collection of ma favorite paintings. Louvre simply has a very different collection of art.

I also like smaller galleries, like Phillips collection in Washington DC or Orangerie in Paris. I feel more comfortable there than in MoMA in New York or Tate Modern in London.

Are photography and cinema art too?

I like what I do best,
sure there are things, left around, that are called art,
but what is best comes from yourself.

Museums?
Those pictures, objects you see in your head from memorys;.
thoughts, ideas, music all those things are artistic, too.
the best place to keep them is stored nicely in your own brain.

Sharing talking, making somothing performing is
your exhibition! Do the best job of living and believing... in y ourself;.. the one great artist, critic and deserves to be saved.
