The "dark" side is the side of the Moon not visible from Earth. But the Moon is not all dark, it's depends on the position of the Earth, Moon and Sun. The dark side is very bright when face the Sun, but we can see it.

The moon has a dark side because it rotates about its axis once in the same time it takes to orbit the earth. This means one face of it always points towards and the other always away from the earth. This does not mean it is always dark, it simply not visible from earth.

False - there is no dark side of the moon - but the fact is that only one side faces us always as the revolution of earth and moon is the same

What is meant by the dark side of the moon is: that while the moon is orbiting the earth we only see the part facing the earth, the moon doesn't spin on an axis like the earth, so the part we never see, from earth, is the 'dark' side of the moon.

The rotation of the moon is such that we can only see one side of the moon from the earth.

The "hidden side" is usually referred to the "dark side" but all of it gets some light from the sun like the earth.

If "dark" refers to lack of sunlight, then your main rhetorical question is correct, but your explanation is not. As a matter of fact, all of it is "light", meaning that all of it gets sunlight.

Sooner or later the sun hits all sides of the Moon. WE can't see the dark side from earth --that doesn't mean it never gets sunlight, but that it is always out-of-view to us and therefore presumably "dark."

We only see one side because it's period of rotation matches its rotation around the earth.

We can see part of the way around the Moon --more than 50% of the surface, but not much more, given enough time and observation.

Half the moon is always dark. Same with Earth and all the other planets.

in order for us to recieve light from the moon it must reflect light from the sun. That would make a dark and light side of the moon.

What? sounds like back to school for you, because it's no more dark than the earth if you take away the sun.
