When I open the "cookie" files I find:
clicksor.com, gerontz, paris hilton and other pop-up ad files of places that I haven't been to. I delete these, but they still reappear.
How do I stop these annoying wesites from invading my web browsing?

u probably have adware(advertising software) installed in your pc. Normal firewall and pop-up blockers can't block them, u have to download a anti-spyware programme from http://www.download.com/ to remove it so that the pop up's will "disappear". And just a little hint, adware are usually installed when you download "free" programs so from now on you might want to download programs only you trust. Good luck with removing it.

Hmm.

Cookies was a good thought. Props for going there.

Lavasoft has a program called "Ad-Aware SE Personal" which will fix the problem.

hi, adware is a disgusting and infamous virus. perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. which is most powerful in popup blocking.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

Popups are are sure sign that your computer is infected with spyware or adware. Probably from some so called "free" software that you may have downloaded. The reason that the software is free is that they bombard your computer with advertisements. Free smilies, screen-savers and music sharing programs such as Kazza, and Limewire are notorious for being bundled with this crap.

Sounds like you have went beyond popups to spyware. Once spyware is on your system, you can't get rid of them except through a program such as adaware.

Visit www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware and see if that helps.

ok go to your control panel and make sure your updates are on. and i highly recomend an alternet browser. i use mozilla. this will help too. also this is not the latest version of mozilla the latest version has bugs in it the earlier versions have had time to work the bugs out.
