No, they're not; it only seems that way because the technology keeps improving rapidly, presenting things more vividly. There's very little that's new in violence itself, but whenever new technology comes along, it seems the old technology fades in the comparison.

Humans have always loved violence, or been fascinated by it, at any rate. Look at the old fairy tales, for heaven's sake. The children pushed the ugly old witch into the hot oven and burned her alive. Not exactly pretty little butterflies and fluffy bunnies, nicht wahr? And the kiddies just eat it up.

These days we may prefer to see it in Cinemascope, technicolor and stereo, but the story hasn't really changed that much, only been presented in a fresh and impressive format that makes the violence seem more violent (and the love scenes more tender), etc.

This is called progress. Woe to any man, woman, child or organization who tries to stand in it's way! They will be crushed under the advancing changes that they would prohibit. For what is life but constant change?

And yet the change is an illusion, for nothing changes but the manner of the presentation and the latest fashions in horror and delight.

Just my opinion.

The games indeed are getting violent..., BUT in the matter of technology. The evolution of technology is making games to be more violent. GTA existed since 1997 for PS. So this wave of violent games have happened before GTA appeared. There is no blame to that games. Instead video games are created by humans, and the result of today in this section of "art" is the people's spiritual health. So if a person had probably a violence trauma or inclination to be violent and he is creating video games, he would have express it through video games.

some childrens are given a recreation like that way formerly they could ever understand the perception of it and that is all they do, all day lengthy. It will grow to be their personal international and it is no longer actual, yet because it is what they stay, it is all they honestly study. i don't think of it is an habit, it is the way they honestly see existence. i don't think of it is the same as permitting them to play it for an hour an afternoon, because then it is merely leisure and they are able to concentration on different issues besides. human beings realized that it truly is a possibility to get so right into a recreation that the participant believes it is truth and now they're only taking it way too some distance. even as someone who commits a criminal offense might want to do it because it is what they have considered continually, it should not be a psychological ailment for any criminal who has ever performed nintendo.

Not necessarily more violent, but more graphic yes. Link could stab something and it just disappeared on NES but if he did that on a new system blood would spill and guts fly. He didn't do a more violent act but the new systems are showing more of the effects done.
