For the room: call the hotel and ask for the name of the front desk manager and their fax number. Draft a nice note to this person telling them it's your 30th birthday - bonus points if it's your first time to Vegas or first time or repeat time to TI - and ask if there's anything that person could do to make the trip even more memorable and special.

The worst you'll get is a fruit basket.

I did this in 1999 at Luxor for my mom's 50th and got a jacuzzi suite for a weekend for $59 a night. (It's a $259/night room)

Thurs, Fri, Sat will be a hard sell too many weekend warriors. Join the players club usually they give you something just to sign up. You better gamble too and at Treasure Island it will take a lot of gaming to get some comps.

Just work on your conning skills, and go for the young ones that look nervous 9 times out of 10 you can con them into anything if you just act like you know exactly what you're talking about
