well if she is leaving and can not care for the child then by you being the biological father you have first rights unless she can prove that you are a unfit father and for as had to get full custody it all depends on the situation and the parents she does have to be unfit to a point and u might be able to get full custody due to abandonment , i mean i know she is not abandoning the child be she is in a way taking a job elsewhere and not being able to take her child with her is saying that she is picking a job over her child but like i said it all depends on the situation i would deff. get a lawyer
GOOD LUCK

Yes, you do need an attorney! A lot will have to do with your state's family codes, etc. and to some degree your backgrounds, histories, ability to care for a child... etc. All of these questions should be addressed to an attorney specializing in child custody and with the correct jurisdiciton for the child.

As long as you got yours **** together you would be chosen over the friend. She might be worried about giving you full custody. What will happen when she gets back and you will not allow her to see the child. Maybee finding a solution to those fears will solve your problem.

I would think she would have to have the baby first before I would worry about getting a lawyer.
Leave the baby with a friend for a year???????????
I would also seek a paternity test.

It would depend if you have a job? Can you provide for the child's well-being? Do you have criminal records? Do you own a house? Do you have a good living style in general....Good Luck!!!!

You need a lawyer...But it depends on if you can show that you have the means to support this child.
