I don't know about other states, but the courts in California only report convictions and only the courts can report to the DMV on traffic convictions. If you go to traffic school in California, the case is dismissed and no conviction occurs.

The violation will always be there... you just regain your points that were lost for that ticket. If you get too many demerit points you can lose your license. However, it does show that you attended traffic school -- which is a good thing. Important note - never lie to your insurance company concerning traffic tickets... it may cost you extra. If you've ever got a question about what's on your DL record you can purchase a copy of this information from the DMV.
In time, that ticket will not mean much... just be careful in the future.

In California, the traffic citation will still show when your MVR (motor vehicle record) is pulled. The DMV and police will always be able to see your citations and now even insurance companies at times can see a citation for which you have attended traffic school. However, an insurance company cannot charge a "point" for this citation if you have not gone to traffic school on any previous citation within the last 18 months.
"Points" will remain "chargeable" (can adversely affect your rates for 3 years from the date of the citation).

If you went to defensive driving and completed the class in lue of pleading not guilty, then the speeding violation will not reflect on your driving record. There may be a record of the stop from the police department, but insurance and the rest of the public wont see it.

Since you can only attend traffic school once in a given period of time (once in 3 yrs in AZ), then there must be a record of it so someone can keep track of it. Attending traffic school prevents you from getting "points" which can cause your insurance rate to go up.

It shows up if, for instance, you are pulled over and the officer runs your license. The traffic school prevents insurance companies from seeing the ticket. It is masked from them.

Of course it will show. Going thru a traffic seminar will not make your violation go away
