YES! I've done it.

Any 2nd generation 2.8 (the 2.8 that doesn't have a carborator, I think 1987 and up - and maybe even the carb'd 2.8) and higher 60º V6's will work. If that doesn't make sense, let me put it simply:

The 2.8, 3.1, 3100 and 3400 head gaskets are all interchangable. (Hence why countless people use the 3100/3400 heads on the 2.8/3.1 as a performance upgrade.)

BTW - This only applies to the actual HEAD GASKET, not any other gaskets.

on certin years yes on some the water ports in the block are different call the auto parts store they can tell you what year it will fit older ones it will work newer ones it may work

Nope! Visually they look the same but the ports are different.
