I think it's best to quarantine first for several reasons. Although it doesn't happen all that often, some programs have been mistakenly flagged as viruses. If you delete these, your system may not work as expected.

Secondly, you can always delete a quarantined file at a later date. Just make sure you you also remove the file from any backups too.

It depends on the virus and what program you're using. Mcafee virus scan will normally take care of it for you. If you're using a free program or AVG or Norton, you won't have that luck.
Once you find a virus try to delete it. If it deletes restart and see if it's still there. If it is you'll have to turn off system restore and delete it and then restart and turn system restore back on.
If you can't delete it you'll have to do it in safe mode again restarting and the whole system restore thing. Most viruses and spyware are very easy to remove and you can just delete them. The stubborn ones can take hours of work. It all depends on which one you have. Also you can find programs that will remove viruses for you if you search for the virus name and removal.

Although this article talks about spyware removal, this procedure can be used with any type of AV or AS program. Always delete an infection. Quarantine is to isolate it so you can delete it.

hi, spyware/adware is a disgusting and infamous virus. perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

Deleted definitely. You do not want to keep the virus on your computer unless you plan to distribute it to others.
If you are trying to protect your computer you probably do not want to keep the virus. There is really no point in keeping it. It is just a waste of memory.
