I grew up outside of Jacksonville and been to Tampa several times.
Jacksonville is the largest city in the United States land wise and has everything including a pro football team, beaches, international airport, and entertainment. Jacksonville is a city that represents the true and original Florida culture. Jacksonville will be cheaper to live in then Tampa.
Tampa has more people who did not grow up there and from all over the country. Tampa has the same features as Jacksonville, but is about 5-10 degrees warmer in the winter. Both cities are on the coast just different ones. Both have opportunities. Far as crime goes they are both just as bad.
It just depends on if you would rather live in North Florida or in central Florida. Both are booming with the only real difference is the temperature during the winter.

I haven't lived in Jacksonville, but I have been there quite a few times and from my experience the people there are a hell of alot more rude. Personally I can't wait to move back to Tampa at the beginning of the year. Currently living in Orlando now and hate it, Tampa I was never bored, there's always something to do and for a decent price too. With year round events such as sports, Gasparilla (there version of Mardi Gras), Guavaween, and much more. Good luck in your decision though.

Depends on what you like to do. Jacksonville is a bit smaller and a lot friendlier than Tampa. If I was going to have to pick one to live in, it would be Jacksonville. I lived in St. Pete for 6 years.

i have lived in Orlando and interior the suburbs on Jacksonville. I spent 4 years interior the genuinely city of Orlando (for faculty), and one 12 months interior the suburbs. wintry climate Park and Oviedo are staggering parts close to Orlando for households. Altamonte Springs is likewise staggering. All of those cities are interior the suburbs of Orlando, so its a community/relations enviroment, and its close to to the city. I spent my senior 12 months of highschool interior the suburbs of Jacksonville, and that i moved back right here after college. Jacksonville is staggering in case you dont favor to attend to the finished touristy element. Its more beneficial of a relations position than an attraction position. There isnt a ton to do, yet there are seashores, procuring, video clips, the traditional. not something great interesting in spite of the reality that, even if the force right down to Orlando and Tampa isnt that undesirable both. Mandarin, the Southside, and Orange Park are staggering parts via Jacksonville St Pete/Tampa is very staggering, yet i have purely visited.

Tampa is warmer in the winter, has lots of white sandy beaches. Other than that, I cannot compare, because I haven't been to Jax. I live near Tampa, and love it.
