Jay Leno

Jay Leno is great, but he definitely is the more (most?) commercialized late-show host. He tends to stay on the safe side because of this so his jokes are never TOO edgy, but the commercialism is something I like about his show. If you could only watch one form of media to find out a brief summary of some important current events, I would watch him. (In fact, I hate the news. I'm pretty cultured and I get all my info from nothing but The Post, Leno, The Colbert Report and Conan)

Conan is more fun and quirky. I watch Leno and Conan almost every night and I like both of them about the same but for different reasons. Conan has signature moves like knocking over his microphone when he says something stupid or doing that little hydraulic dance thing. If you watch him a lot, you totally understand everything he does just about. I still laugh when he knocks over his microphone, cause he always makes the timing PERFECT. And I love the "celebrity interviews" with the still-shots of celebrities with just their mouths moving. Most of the skits are pretty dumb though - but for every load of them that are just mildly entertaining, the producers put out something that's pure GOLD (like that guy's trip to India to meet the Microsoft customer service woman he talked to on the phone?? I've seen it like 10 times and I still laugh just as hard every time)

David Letterman is more like Leno than anyone else, but less to the commercial side and more to the safe side. I guess he's probably more for older people, I'm 17 and I never find him that entertaining.

I've only seen Jimmy Kimmel once or twice (there goes my best answer opportunity, lol!) so I'm not sure what to think of him.

Carson Daily is not that funny. I watch his show a couple times a week when I'm not too tired after Conan. He can be funny but I think he's more like the Ryan Seacrest of late shows hosts. Funny isn't his thing, so it's weird to me that he would have a late show instead of like a morning show or something. He's better at talking to people in a formal interview that's still comfortable and casual, if that makes any sense to anyone but me. :)

Well, those are the opinions of a late-show-addict-insomniac (minus one for Jimmy Kimmel). Like I said, I'm only 17 so Johnny Carson was before my time, I just know Jay started off his career as Carson's "apprentice" type of deal.

If I had to pick one, I would say Leno SOLELY for the fact that the 1 thing he has on Conan is his amazing incredible car collection. If I could meet any celebrity in the world it would either be him or Gisele Bundchen. And THAT is saying something, let me tell you...
