The closest I can come up with are Kodiaks. Kodiaks are best described as steel toe work boots that where worn with laces undone and jeans tucked inside the boots. Check out the link below it includes a picture:

Other men shoes of the 80s:
Checkerboard Vans Shoes -- Checker-Board Vans beame extremely popular after the release of the cult classic teen film "Fast Time At Ridgemont High." You can see Sean Penns' character wearing a pair in the film surfer style.
Chuck Tylors Converse -- It was normal for guys and girls to have numerous pairs of Chuck in their closet--all of them three different colors. The fad was to pull out a right foot and a left foot and wear them, regardless of whether or not they matched.
Converse Chuck Taylors -- Funky colors like pink and teal. You could even buy the super high top ones that came up to your calf and then you folded them over.
Converse Hi-Tops (Chucks) -- High top black sneakers white toecap white laces.
Cougar winter boots -- (Tan-colored leather with red lining)
Cowboy Hats and Boots -- The hats had highly decorative bands, usually made with feathers and roach clips with matching feathers from the back. The boots had to be by Dingo, the fancier the better. Inspired by "Urban Cowboy."
Creepers -- Ultra pointy toe lace up shoes with a thick rubber sole.
K-Swiss -- The all white tennis shoes with 5 white stripes. They are still around today in several varieties.
Keds Sneakers -- Some of the most comfortable shoes ever, and they often came with Velcro fasteners, which made it fast and easy.
Kung Fu Slippers and Happy Shoes -- Males wore Kung Fu slippers with the elastic bits at the sides and the girl version is Happy Shoes with the strap across the top and are of like Mary Jane style. Flat cloth slippers, at one stage they also came in a fetching range of pastel colours and are still readily available from Asian supermarkets.
paaatches --Okay, I think there's a mouse underneath the oven and it's freaking me out!

Nope, not only are you normal, you have great musical taste! Really good music is timeless. Oh, by the way, that thing you describe that 80's music has that a lot of today's music doesn't, is hope. As a teenager in the 80's we all really believed that EVERYTHING was possible. I mean, not to trash your generation, seriously, I'm not, we were a lot more optimistic. We believed that life was sort of mysterious and that it would be a great adventure. I don't see that in most of the teenagers I meet today. Maybe my generation became disillusioned and passed that on to you. If so, I'm sorry about that! Anyway, put on New Order's "Shellshock," or rent Pretty In Pink or any of the 80's movies, sit back, listen and ENJOY!!!
