I am not from Minnesota, but Ihave family there and I took a visit there and it is a nice place. I have read about it in so many books. It has its problems but I think Minnesota is one of the nicest placest to live(particularly the Twin Cities) and one of my favorite states(hence my username liker_of_minnesota). When Minnesota comes to mind, I think of nice summers, cold snowy winters, lots of nice lakes, lots of things to do.

Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes. It has a great history.
in 1862 there was the Minnseota massacre, The Mississippi River borders the state to the east, that river also has a great history of steamboating in1819.
Being the land of 10,000 lakes would be a great challenge for someone to name them.
Nebraska and Wyoming also have great history. Lewis and Clark passed through Nebraska on their journey to the Pacific.
Wyoming has the Treaty of 1868 at Fort Laramie.
Nebraska is not just corn, we have the cornhusker football.

I am from Kansas. I now live in Minnesota and that damn accent from Fargo is not how we talk here. I have met one person in 32 years with that kind of accent. As for the cold it can be. You have to learn to go ice fishing and snowmobiling. Summers great always a lake to check out. I think everywhere has something to offer. You can't know it unless you go there and see for yourself.

Lately it seems like any cool thing happening in American is being accomplished by someone in Minnesota. Look at interior design magazines and sports magazines. Many successful people are Minnesotans. I want to move there, to be cool like Rhoda on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

I just got back from Minnesota last week. I spent twelve days up near Brainerd. I loved it up there. Friendly people, fishing, canoeing, golfing and peace and quiet. I think of lakes when someone mentons Minnesota, or at lest I use to.

I have never seen it- so I would be thinking it would be interesting to see. I have heard it is beautiful and full of history in some places though. If you are thinking produce wise them - it probably is well known mostly for its fruit and vegetables.
I know it is known too as the land of 10,000 Lakes. Wow, you lucky people! That's a blessing... my thoughts!

A strange accent - they say Minna-SOW-TA and BAY-G for Bag - and eighth grade girls who think there have been 59 presidents but Lincoln is the 63rd.
