Greatest QB ever.

i think of Trent Dilfer might go with to be Dan Marino. He has a hoop yet he's not a HOF'er and (until eventually you delivered him up) have been forgotten. Marino would be remembered for many accomplishments as nicely triumphing a great bowl. that doesn't make Dilfer a greater effectual QB. third string particular teamers even have CHAMPIONSHIP rings.answer ? Dan Marino!

Yeah I'm a Marino fan. As to those that are such fans of Joe Montana, sorry but I go by the person as well. Never heard anything against Marino or heard the bad stories of him. Maybe they are out there I don't know. Thing is I DO know the bad story of Montana as I am from the area he grew up in. No this isn't about his growing up, this is about him from the time he was a player or shortly after he retired don't really remember. I am not talking about it other then to say he isn't the great person. We still respect his ability as a player in that area but if you go the specific area in the Mon-Valley and ask about him as a person, don't expect us to say how great of a PERSON he is, just how great of a PLAYER he was.

Yeah, I like Marino.

For everyone that slams him for not winning the Super Bowl, he didn't have a great running attack most of his career, nor a great defense. Montana had both. The 49ers had a dominant passing game, but they also had a vastly underrated defense. Swith teams for Marino and Montana, and I'm sure that Marino would have some rings.

Dan is a home town hero here in the "Burgh even though he didn't play for the Steelers. He is a class act through & through. A fine gentleman, father & husband. There are things in life much more valuable than Super Bowl rings.

When I was first getting into american football (early 80s) I was looking for an NFL team to support.I liked Joe and the 49ers a lot as well as Dallas. But when Marino came along no contest. Hell I'd still have him throwing now. Remember he could throw even when they knew he was going to throw. JJ should have just let him call the plays. When he retired a big part of my life retired too. Named my boy Daniel in respect.
Screw the rings. GO PHINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An incredible QB and person. Yet he unfortunately never got a ring, to no fault of his own. They just couldn't get enough support around him again after his first couple of seasons.
