After you read each chapter, write down the main ideas and events. If you are in college you may be looking for something specific - use of metaphor or something. Check your assignment. A summary is key ideas and actions. So you should have a paragraph summary for each chapter. Actually, you should get in the habit anyway. Word of warning - if you use a cheat site or something make sure you change the wording.

the easiest way to do that is to take it chapter by chapter in order of course and just talk it out as if you are telling a friend what the book is about. Sum it up!! Keep it light and simple.

it's the same as doin a book summary cept treat each chapter like a book. read a chapter, rite a summary, etc etc

Go through each chapter carefully. Jot down points that you think are absolutely important. Highlight important terms as you go through your notes.

And finally just to make sure, try formulating your own questions from the points you have taken down and give answers to them.
