We moved to USA from UK a year ago.Our plan was to find a job and good house, maybe start to study somewhere. We had enough money for everything. For 9 years my husband tried to save that money.9 years he was in Navy. Then, when we moved to here we found out he had a cancer.Means, need treatment,no time for job,no physicly energy for anything like that.I was with him in hospital and everywhere all the time.At home after chemoteraphy, everywhere.I cant find any job,coz just got here, and learn english better. We dont have any insuranse, ofcourse. We have to pay about 40 000 $ for surgeries and treatment. But these people call all the time from hospitals and remind us to pay a checks.Dont they understand that person cant work right after surgery and chemo? Not having any insuranse, any job. ANYBODY knows here any way to get a job,by looking for it online?Soon, hopefully,he will feel better and can start working. He has a good education. But we dont see anyway to find a job in USA.How people find a jobs?

Sorry for the tough time you're going through. My husband went through cancer too and has just returned to his place of work a month ago. Can you get any help from your home country? Perhaps you were on a medical plan there that could still provide coverage. Call your UK Cancer Society and tell them of your predicament. Churches may be able to help too. It's stressful for sure under regular circumstance but you folks must feel pretty concerned. Will pray for your situation.

Try Monster.com or CareerBuilders.com for job searches. Please consider training as a Certified Nursing Assistant or a Certified Home Health Aide. These two jobs are in great demand. They are not high-paying, but the education is less than 100 hrs., typically completed in 2 to 3 weeks, and you will easily find work. Your English is fine for either of these positions.
Please try to take care of yourself. Set aside 5 minutes several different times per day, and just sit in a quiet place and take deep breaths to help decrease your stress. I am attaching some links to places that will help you with cancer information:
http://www.cansearch.org/programs/toolbox.aspx
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/home/index.asp
http://www.cansearch.org/
http://www.cancerindex.org/clinks1.htm
The first listing takes you to the toolbox. This is FREE, and has a lot of very helpful information.
You might also want to see if there is a "Gilda's Club" anywhere near where you live. These clubs are for people with cancer and their family members. They offer support and programs, and will know a lot about local resources.that may be helpful to you.
All the best,
Sher

Well with your husbands medical problems it will not be easy to find work in the U.S. Especially work that will offer him benefits. Now there are some good ways to generate income from home and there are some good jobs that have flexible hours. You really just have to get out there and look. I can offer you an opportunity to work from home and improve your over all wellness health included. I stay at home and show people how to completely change there lives. I would certainly be more than happy to show you how to do the same thing that I do from the comfort of my home. if you are interested please send me an email at birddawg@myway.com. This is not a get rich quick scheme and does require you to work at it to generate an income. So please email and we can get started.

Sorry to hear about your problems with your husband's health.

If you are looking for jobs, check out www.careerbuilder.com.
It's probably the easiest to use.

Also, there are Department of Economic Security offices in mostly every city in the US-check your phone book.
Local newspapers have jobs listed also, especially on Wednesdays and Sundays.

go to www.google.com or www.yahoo.com, type the following in the search area:
jobs + USA + working from home
the search engine should give you a lonnnnng list. click on the links and you can visit the job sites. Please be careful as many of these sites are frauds and most actual working from home jobs have gone to India and Chaina and Asia. you may still find your needed job and can start working right away. generally the sites will ask for a fee before you can join them. BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU DISCLOSE YOUR CREDIT CARD #
