Above is correct your monitor is simply a VDT(video display unit)
Some of them are CRT(cathode ray tube) displays... if it weighs more than ten pounds and is as wide and high as it is deep you have one of them...

OS(operating system) or browser(IE, netscape, firefox, etc) or
video software is what allows dual display screens...

assuming both programs(whatcha secret agent man and can't say specifics?) are NOT involving seperate OS's than it should not be too hard...

Get out the decoder ring, oops- sorry, but most browsers allow you to size the window(display area). You want less than 100%
or FULL display(middle box upper right on almost all windows/IE)

The other choices will minimize(still there but 'closed'- tab there on toolbar... OR 'closed'(no longer there).

Now that is at less than 100% of display, you can(well with the mouse's help left 'click'(and hold) edge of display area to move it around... cool huh! Drag top left up to top left... bottom right on over to make room(say 50-50).

You'll want to open your browser anew(so if using desktop shortcut move it over to 'open' area first) ! And size it as above but using opposite corners to move... should be second nature by now(almost...)

Depending on your browser you can adjust settings to do this automatic- like! Cooler yes!

Really getting crazy with an additional video card(comes with software) and another display unit you can have two fullsize
windows displayed side by side! REALLY COOL!

So if you are currently using both applications on the same OS and they are not opening in browsers you can most likely due the same thing
BUT will need to go into that seperate application and 'size' the window if possible (BUT think the first one gots you covered).

Well I'm getting COLD and think THE've found me... BUT let me know if that helped...

That has nothing to do with the monitor. Any computer should be able to open a bunch of windows at once. I've got three web browsers, a media player, and a file manager open right now.

Any wide screen monitor can fit your needs. Check out this site for what type of video card to pair with your big new lcd monitor...look esp for a post by Marubozo (msg #13):

particular it rather is feasible yet first you may desire to learn some issues: a million) look interior the lower back of your video card.. if it has 2 video reveal connections If it does, you're 0.5 way abode. pass to the video card settings (remarkable click on your individual pc, click properties, then settings) after plugging interior the 2nd video reveal and alter the settings. 2) in case you dont have 2 connectors.. dont panic in basic terms yet. some video enjoying cards are "twin head" meaning they may be useful 2 video reveal instruments yet you like a definite cable which will chop up your single video reveal connection into 2 connections. to make certain if your card is "twin head", i might examine the documentation. sturdy luck!!
