I suffered from trichtotillomania when I was a teen, but overcame it. I still have severe low self-esteem because of that, but now that I'm old, I kind of have the attitude of "what the hell". LOL

I have it. I only have a very mild version though. I get obsessive about ideas, lets say I want a dog... That is the only thing I think or talk about. It kinda gets annoying when you keep going on about the same over and over again. But pretty much I feel okay. Some people have it worse, like opening doors 24 times for every door, or obsessive hand washing like 100 times a day.

I do, with yahoo.answers....
I can't log out till I have an even # of points
and an even # of answered questions.

Anything from eating candies, (like skittles/m&m's) I have to eat in two's, usually in the same color, to when I cook eggs or something, I have to make sure I leave it at an even #.

I've never actually thought about it until someone brought it to my attention, and when I would yell at my family for just using 1 egg and leaving the carton all odd #'d. It still doesn't bother me, I'm just more aware of it, now.

It makes you feel like you have to do things in a certain way, or things won't be right. You feel like something will go wrong if you don't do something just right. I also have to have an even number. I open and close doors. Tap things I sit down an even number. I turn on and off light switches till they click right. It gets on your nerves, but you can't help it.

MONK is the poster child for obsessive/compulsive disorder. The condition very often keeps you from accomplishing anything because you are constantly rearranging everything in your life. (shouldn't this one be in the psychology section?) B.

no but my sister and dad have it. my dad closes and reopens things 5-10 times and turns lights on and off. and repeats other things and says things when he does them. my sister scratches paper and repeats the last word in some sentences that she says. i dont mind my sister's ocd but my dad's can get a little annoying after a while. oh yeah, and my friend counts things. A LOT of things. it gets annoying when i have to wait up for her cuz she slowed down to count.

I don't know if I actually have ocd, but if I see any water on the counter I have to wipe it off, even if its only a little spot........I do this at work and home............and its only if its on the counter, I don't care if its on anything else..............I hate it because I could be doing so many more constructive things then wiping off the counters constantly..............

Yes. I'm on Answers too much... it makes me feel dirty and ashamed.

I also eat and go in straight lines when not curving.
