The Descent and The Hills Have Eyes were pretting f-ing scary. The former was more psychologically scary, with the whole claustraphobic aspect of it, and the latter was scary in a brutal, gorey way, pretty bloody.
I suggest those two movies, especially The Hills Have Eyes.
There was one scene in that movie that made me and my fiance cringe...The dude, cant remember his name, gets like 3 of his fingers chopped off with an axe, and you get to see the whole thing. Eeek.

Well I'm sure you've seen all the good ones.. "The Ring",
"Sixth Sense". Those two are at the top of the list for
recent movies. The Omen is one of the best scary movies
from earlier years. The scariest movie I've ever seen
was called, "The Bogie Creek Monster". I don't know if
it's available now, though. It scared me crapless when
I was a kid, saw it in the movie theater. "The Shining"
is scary.

M. Night Shamalan's stuff is good. You could always try Children of the Corn, though I never actually saw that, but the thought of children alone should be pretty scary to a group of 20-30 somethings!

Later note: DO NOT WATCH THE GRUDGE!!!...maybe Snakes on a Plane, but only if that has lots of rap and IceCube-acting in it.
