When I have a sub in the class, the students have for the most part, negative things to say.

For the most part, school students dont yet have the maturity level to realise, that the substitute is equal to an everyday teacher, students tend to carry the stigma with them that a sub is either a young, inexperienced or teacher that is not good enough to teach full time...and so get no respect.(even if they have been teaching everyday for the past 30 years.)

I have found though a 'sub' teacher will quite often have far more experience than a regular teacher...i respect them far more.....as they have usually seen more in life.

Because we no longer permanently expel people for misbehaving. Also the average child keeps getting dumber, since the stupid people are the ones breeding. They reflect their parents who are often ignorant children themselves, poorly raised, and of poor genetic material. Everyone in the world should have their IQ tattooed on their forehead and be treated accordingly. They treat subs bad because the want the free class period and they haven't figured out that they have to be in school everyday because it's free babysitting so adults can work. What I can't stand is the brats that go to COLLEGE and act that way. To a professor! Your tax dollars at work. I blame in part this 'empowered education' where the kids are told how wonderful their opinions are instead of memorizing some facts, like H is the symbol for hydrogen. Also no one is dumb anymore, it's the teacher's fault if you have the brain of a dog and the work ethic of slug.

Here's the explanation, and I hope you take this seriously. They don't respect sub teachers coz most students are autistic. Teens don't like change, because their emotional stability lays within a teacher or a person that they can rely on to be there for them. Teens are still kids that are trying to be adult, so they still have emotional clinging to things/person that are usual. They throw tantrums when what is usual is shattered by a sudden change. But once they get over their tantrums, they will go back to their usual self. Which is most of the time... worse. (: Good luck!!

I guess it goes with the territory, but if the Sub comes in with a strong personality, then they won't ahve any problems, My mother used to Sub, she had 2 things against her, sometimes I was in the class, and she is only 4'10", but she never had any problems subingm because she demanded respect but in a fashion that was not demeaning to the kids in the class, she just didn't put up with being treated badly and it worked

It's kind of like the sub is the evil step parent. Trying to take over the teacher. Subs are not though.

Because instead of thinking, "Oh, there's a new teacher we better act right!" the children think, "Yeah! The teacher isn't here, we can do whatever we want!" It might not be out of disrespect for the sub, just out of assumed freedom, you know?

Because the students are obviously little spoiled brats and they will all become thugs and gangsters when they grow up.... IF they grow up. If we lose respect or people who are trying to help us and teach us then we may as well forget being civilized at all. Young people can be a real pain sometimes. Losers.....

It's because usually, you're only there for just one day and most of the time, you're not really teaching, you're just giving busy work. Students view it as a time to slack off. Sorry to say it though.

Depends on the disposition of the sub.
